1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the eQuran application, also known as Tafsir Al-Quran (the "App"), published by BUFIB ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Licence to use the app

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute or otherwise commercially exploit the App or its content, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

3. Intellectual property

The App software, its design, and the "eQuran" and "Tafsir Al-Quran" branding are © BUFIB and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

The Qur'anic text, the translations, transliterations, tafsir (commentary) and audio recitations made available through the App remain the property of, and are used with respect to, their respective rights holders. The Qur'an itself is the revealed word of Allah; the digital renderings, translations, commentaries and recitations are the works of their respective authors, translators, reciters and publishers. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any such content to you. You must not extract, reproduce or redistribute this content except as permitted by law or by the relevant rights holder.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App lawfully and respectfully. In particular, you agree not to:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
• Interfere with, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the App or the content services it relies upon (including app.bufib.de);
• Modify, adapt or create derivative works of the App or its content without authorisation; or
• Remove or obscure any proprietary notices contained in the App or its content.

5. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

Prayer times, Hijri dates and qibla direction provided by the App are computed aids generated from calculation methods and device sensors. They may vary depending on your location, device accuracy, chosen calculation method and local conventions. You should verify prayer times and qibla direction with your local mosque or religious authority and not rely on the App as your sole source.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BUFIB and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our total liability shall be limited to the extent permitted by law.

7. Changes to the app & terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue the App, or any feature of it, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your place of residence. (Governing law and jurisdiction are provided as a placeholder and should be confirmed by legal counsel.)
